Royce Renee Woods: Meet Tiger Woods Sister

Royce Renee Woods is an American golfer, former collegiate basketball player and current WNBA coach. She was born in 1961 to Earl and Barbara Gary, making her the half-sister of golf legend Tiger Woods.

Royce’s professional career as a golfer began at the University of Maryland where she was part of their golf team. She then went on to join the LPGA tour for three years, during which she achieved a number of top-10 finishes and won the 1990 Hawaiian Ladies Open.

After leaving the tour, Royce moved into coaching basketball at various universities and eventually became head coach at the University of Maryland’s women’s basketball team.

Royce made the switch to the WNBA in 1999, taking up an assistant coaching role with the Detroit Shock. She then went on to become head coach of the Washington Mystics from 2001-2003. Royce has also held assistant coaching positions with teams such as Los Angeles Sparks and New York Liberty.
